Mark 6:30-56

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What did Jesus tell His disciples in verse 31? Why didn’t the disciples understand about the loaves?

Do I take time to come away privately with Jesus to an isolated place and rest awhile in Him? Is my heart too hard to understand what God is doing in my life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I ask that You would remind me to come away privately with Jesus to an isolated place and rest awhile on a regular basis. Help me to trust in Him to provide in every situation and not to fear. Keep my heart from being hardened and let me be open to whatever You want to do in and through my life. I ask all of this in the name of the One who gave Himself for me, Jesus Christ. Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Darrell & Fralina Leatham

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for our state leaders…

  • Governor & his advisers
  • Judges
  • state senators and representatives
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
