What was the crowd’s response to seeing the power of Jesus at work (7:37)? Considering all the miracles the Pharisees had already seen Jesus do, why would they ask Him for a sign?

What is my response to the power of Christ? Do I believe in Him, or do I simply want to see more miracles?

Dear Jesus, I am completely astounded that You love me and that by Your power You have saved me and keep me. I declare that You have done and always will do all things well. Thank You for the mighty works You have done throughout history and in my life. Keep me from merely wanting to see miraculous displays of power for their own sake, but rather help to to trust and obey You, whether You choose to perform signs and wonders or not. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Keith Rast
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Mountain Home…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • For the air base: safety for military and their families (especially those who are deployed), sound military strategies by commanders, impact for Christ in areas where deployed

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. – Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV)
