What amazed Pilate about Jesus? Why did he turn Jesus over to be crucified even though he knew He was innocent?

How do I respond when unjustly accused, and how does my response compare to that of Jesus? Am I more concerned about making the popular decision or doing what is right?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Jesus, As I read of Your trial and torture, I am humbled and broken. That You would go through such an ordeal without even stating Your case amazes me. That You would do it out of love for people like me amazes me even more. Help me to be more like You; to have Your compassion and humility. Keep me from a heart like Pilate’s, that is more concerned with pleasing the crowd than with doing what is right. Thank You for Your great love! In Your name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Keith Rast
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for young children in our community

  • For Godly influences
  • For safety and protection from accidents, abuse, and predators
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For a heart to learn and to know God from a young age
  • That they will not be prodigals, but remain true to God all the days of their lives

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, first to the Jew, and also to the Greek. – Romans 1:16 (HCSB)
