Daniel 6

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

Why were the officials trying to drum up a charge against Daniel? What was the only thing for which they could accuse him? What happened as a result, and how did God show Himself faithful?

Am I faithful enough to God that there is enough evidence to convict me of following Him? Am I willing to follow Him even when it is unpopular–even if it becomes illegal? Do I believe God is ultimately faithful to those who are His?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord God, Give me faith and faithfulness like Daniel had. May I come to You in Your Word and in prayer every day, and may I live a lifestyle that would cause me to be convicted should serving you become illegal. Thank You that You are faithful to Your people! Thank You that, because of Jesus, I am found innocent before You. You alone are the living God, and You endure forever; Your kingdom will never be destroyed, and Your dominion has no end. You rescue and deliver; You perform signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, for You rescued Daniel from the power of the lions. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Keith Rast
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

I love You, LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalm 18:1-2 (HCSB)
