Daniel 10

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

Why caused the heavenly messenger appear to Daniel (11-12)? What had detained the heavenly messenger and what enabled him to finally come to Daniel (13)? For what purpose had he come (14,19-21)?

Do I purpose to understand the will of God and humble myself before Him? Do I continue in prayer, even when the answer is delayed? Do I derive my strength from God’s Word and communing with Him in prayer?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for the godly example of Your servant Daniel, who purposed to understand Your will and humbled himself before You in prayer. May I follow his example, continuing in prayer even when the answer is delayed for reasons far beyond my understanding and ability to control. May I wait on You and draw my strength from Your Word and communing with You in prayer. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Darrell & Fralina Leatham

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Mountain Home…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • For the air base: safety for military and their families (especially those who are deployed), sound military strategies by commanders, impact for Christ in areas where deployed
