Observation
What happened to Nebuchadnezzar, and why?
Application
Do I truly understand that all glory belongs to God and not to me?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, May I never give in to selfish pride, and may I never forget that every good thing I have comes from You. May I never take credit for Your works. May I humble myself so that You won’t have to humble me. May I learn from Nebuchadnezzar’s experience so I don’t have to go through something like it myself. I agree with his words after his sanity returned to him, “I praise, exalt, and glorify the King of heaven, because all His works are true and His ways are just. He is able to humble those who walk in pride.” In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
- Bob & Peggy Hoover
- Pat & Hannah Kelley
- Darrell & Fralina Leatham
Ministry:
- Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing
CLF:
- Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.
Community: Pray for marriages in our community…
- that Christ-like love would be exhibited
- for good communication between spouses
- for unity in finances
- salvation for non-believing spouses
- that they would balance work and home life
- that Godly friends and mentors would come alongside them.
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
I love You, LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalm 18:1-2 (HCSB)
