What is the meaning of the Parable of the Sower? Of the the lamp? Who did Jesus say are in His family? After rebuking the wind and waves, why did Jesus rebuke the disciples?

What kind of soil is my heart for the seed of God’s Word? Do I let my light shine in the world? Do I accept all who hear and do the Word of God as my spiritual family? Do I have faith that Jesus is stronger than the storms life throws at me?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Help me be good ground for Your Word; give me an honest and good heart that listens to what you have to say, holds onto it, and by enduring, bears fruit. I pray that my life would be a lamp in this dark world, that you can hold up for others to see to show them the way to You. I am in Your family because of Christ; may I continually go on hearing and doing Your Word and remember that others who do likewise are in Your family, too. Lord, I believe Jesus calmed the wind and waves by simply speaking to them briefly. A Savior who can do that is more than powerful enough to get me safely through the storms of life. Increase my faith, and may I ever trust Him. I ask this in His name, Amen

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins (Gianna)
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of Yahweh our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm. – Psalm 20:7-8 (HCSB)
