Observation
For what did Jesus instruct His followers to pray? For what did He tell them they should rejoice?
Application
Do I pray for the lost and for God to send workers to share the Gospel with them? Do I rejoice more about other things than the fact that my name is written in heaven?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in heaven, The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. I pray that You would send out workers into Your harvest. I thank You that Satan has no power over me, but I don’t rejoice in that–I rejoice that my name is written in the Book of Life in heaven because of what Christ has done for me! In the name of Christ Jesus I pray, Amen.
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.
- Moy & Janeth Ortiz
- Doug & Pam Patchin
- Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
- Keith Rast
- Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)
Ministry:
- Boise Rescue Mission
CLF:
- That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.
Community: Pray for County leaders…
- Commissioners, Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
- that they would make sound financial decisions
- that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
- that they would submit themselves to God
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Some take pride in chariots, and others in horses, but we take pride in the name of Yahweh our God. They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm. – Psalm 20:7-8 (HCSB)
