Who did Jesus say are blessed even more than His mother Mary? What did He mean by “the sign of Jonah”? Why didn’t He wash before reclining at the table?

Do I hear and keep the Word of God? Do I seek for signs, or is the fact that jesus rose on the 3rd day good enough for me? Am I more concerned with the exterior than the interior of my life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for Your Word and for promising to bless those who hear it and keep it. May I always be one of those people! Lord, I seek no other signs, for “the sign of Jonah”–Jesus being in the tomb and rising the third day–is more than good enough! Help me to never be more concerned with my outward appearance than I am with the condition of my heart, soul, and mind. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for Meridian

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word. – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (HCSB)
