Luke 12:35-59

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What did Jesus admonish His servants to do in the first portion of this passage? Why should we who have been given much be even more alert and ready? Am I willing to be divided from even loved ones because of my love for Christ?

Am I alert and ready for Christ’s return? Do I understand that the more grace and knowledge He gives me, the more will be required of me? Am I willing to have others not want anything to do with me because I follow Christ?

Dear Father, Help me to more fully see and recognize the glory of Christ, and be prepared for His return. May I live up to the light You have given me, and share it with others in the meantime. And if family and friends give me an ultimatum of choosing between them and Christ, may I choose Christ, every time! I ask this for Jesus’ sake and in His name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Tris & Chris Miller
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Nampa

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal encouragement and good hope by grace, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good work and word. – 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 (HCSB)
