Lamentations 4

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

Who was most responsible for the judgment in Jerusalem (13)? Having finished His judgement of Zion, to where does God turn it?

Am I living and teaching others to live for God, or am I corrupt and self-serving, like the priests and prophets in Jerusalem? Do I thank God that one day He will judge the enemies of His people?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, The priests and prophets in Jerusalem during the days of Jeremiah did not serve You faithfully, and caused Your discipline to come down not only on themselves but on everyone in the city. We who are in Christ are a kingdom of priests (Rev 1:6; 1 Peter 2:9). May I be a pure priest who serves You faithfully, brings You glory, and brings Your blessing not only on myself but on those around me. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins (Gianna)
  • Patti Doty
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Mountain Home…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • For the air base: safety for military and their families (especially those who are deployed), sound military strategies by commanders, impact for Christ in areas where deployed

But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. – Psalm 13:5 (HCSB)
