Genesis 12:1-3

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How does the promise God gave Abraham pertain to Christ? What do we learn from Matthew 1:1? From Galatians 3:13-18?

Do I believe God keeps His promises? Do I believe He kept His promise to Abraham? Do I believe that Jesus Christ was, in fact, the fulfillment of His promise to Abraham? Do I trust Him to keep His promise that all who have received Christ have eternal life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear God my Father, You are so good and kind and full of grace! Thank You for making a promise to Abraham that You would bless every nation in the world through him, and that You fulfilled that promise in the person of Jesus Christ. Help me to trust that You are faithful and always keep Your Word, and that because I have received Christ Jesus, I have Your promise of eternal life! I ask this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Darrell & Fralina Leatham

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Kuna…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

But I have trusted in Your faithful love; my heart will rejoice in Your deliverance. – Psalm 13:5 (HCSB)
