1 Corinthians 11

What does this chapter teach regarding the Lord’s Supper and one’s behavior in church meetings?

Do I seek to “be fed” (spiritually and/or physically) when meeting with my church family above all else, even if it is at the expense of others?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in Heaven, May I never be a cause of division among my church family. keep me from a heart that desires to build myself up or see my own needs met over and above the needs of others. May our church observe Communion with the proper attitude and proclaim Christ’s death until He returns. Help me to put the needs of others, the Name of Christ, and Your glory above myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins (Gianna)
  • Patti Doty

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us. He has also sealed us and given us the Spirit as a down payment in our hearts. – 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (HCSB)
