What aspects of Christian love in this chapter stand out the most to me?

In what aspects of love am I strong? In what areas am I weak? Am I willing to submit to God and be loving even when I don’t feel loving, even in the aspects where I am weakest?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, I can get so caught up in doing right and being right that I forget that love is the ultimate gift of the Spirit that has governing authority over all other spiritual gifts. Keep me from falling into the trap of exercising my gifts without love, for love alone is what makes any service I render pleasing to You. Thank You for Jesus, the ultimate demonstration of Your love! Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Commissioners, Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

Now it is God who strengthens us, with you, in Christ and has anointed us. He has also sealed us and given us the Spirit as a down payment in our hearts. – 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 (HCSB)
