What insight do verses 1-3, 28-36 and 46-50 give us regarding David’s relationship with God?

Do I trust in the Lord to be my rock and my fortress, to be my deliverer, sustainer, refuge, provider, protector and avenger?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, I love You, LORD, my strength. You are my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. You alone are worthy of praise. LORD, You light my lamp and illuminate my darkness. Your way is perfect; Your word is pure. You are a shield to all who take refuge in You. For who is God besides the LORD? And who is a rock? Only You, God. You clothe me with strength and make my way perfect. You make my feet like the feet of a deer and set me securely on the heights. You have given me the shield of Your salvation; Your right hand upholds me, and Your humility exalts me. You widen a place beneath me for my steps, and my ankles do not give way. The LORD lives–may my Rock be praised! The God of my salvation is exalted. You free me from my enemies. You exalt me above my adversaries; You rescue me from violent men. Therefore I will praise You, LORD, among the nations; I will sing about Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins (Gianna)
  • Patti Doty

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.
