What does Paul have to say about setting Christian leaders on a pedestal? What does he teach regarding the works of the redeemed?

Do I bicker and divide over which godly leaders are best? Do I live my life such that my works will survive the fire and I will receive a reward?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, Keep me from setting the messenger above the message. May I never align myself with any leader or teacher over and above Jesus Christ. May my works survive the fire of judgment! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for area pastors and their families:

  • Encouragement
  • Faithfulness in the Lord’s work
  • Finances
  • Marriage/family relationships
  • Work/life balance
  • Deep friendships and support from other Christian leaders

Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for God’s glory.
– 1 Corinthians 10:31 (HCSB)
