Observation
What does Paul teach regarding marriage? What did he urge them about? What sinful issue did he address?
Application
Do I hold to and support the sanctity of marriage?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the marriage relationship you instituted in Eden. I pray that Your Spirit will lead all married believers to be faithful and true to their spouses, that they may bring glory to you. may those who are married to unbelieving spouses shine the light of Christ’s love in their homes. And may those who are single remain pure, pray for their married spiritual siblings, and take their joy in serving You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
- Deborah Halkola
- David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
- Bob & Peggy Hoover
Ministry:
- Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing
CLF:
- Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.
Community: Pray for orphans and children in foster care…
- that they would come to know the adoptive Father-heart of God
- that they would be positively influenced by Christian workers
- that God would bring Christian friends alongside them
- that they would come to salvation
- that they would be adopted by godly parents
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God. – 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (HCSB)
