Psalm 91

What comfort is found in this psalm? In what ways is this psalm a prophecy of Jesus?

Do I find my comfort, refuge, and fortress in God? Am I lovingly devoted to Him?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Because of Christ, I am one who lives under the protection of the Most High and dwells in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to You, LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” You are my Deliverer. You cover me and I will take refuge under Your wings. Your faithfulness will be a protective shield. I will not fear the terror of the night, or the arrow that flies by day. Teach me to be lovingly devoted to You. I thank You that because I am in Christ, You will one day exalt me with an eternal body and an eternal home with You for Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Mountain Home…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • For the air base: safety for military and their families (especially those who are deployed), sound military strategies by commanders, impact for Christ in areas where deployed

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful trial you are suffering, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. – 1 Peter 4:12-13 (HCSB)
