What does God require of His people (6:8)?

In my daily life am I acting justly, loving faithfulness, and walking humbly with my God?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, May I never trust in any rituals or formulas or “good works” that I do to make me righteous before You. Rather may I trust in the perfect sacrifice and resurrection power of Christ alone, and may that by be evidenced in my life (because You have have accepted me in Him, not in an attempt to be accepted through my own efforts) by what is good and what You require of me: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with You, my Lord and my God. Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Gary Friend
  • Roger & Andrea Gabel; Tom
  • Steve & Gloria Gangwer
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Greece

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

Question #23: Why must the Redeemer be truly God?

Children’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective.

Adult’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective; and also that He would be able to bear the righteous anger of God against sin and yet overcome death.

Memory Verse

Acts 2:24 (HCSB)

God raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.
