Micah 7

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What does Micah say he will do, even when circumstances are at their darkest (7)? How does the Book of Micah close (18-20)?

Summarized Bible: When a child of God has much occasion to cry “Woe is me”—when it seems that all flesh has corrupted their way—it is a great comfort that he has a God to look to, in whom there is rejoicing and satisfaction always. He cannot but marvel at God’s pardoning mercy to men and rejoice at the promise that He shall yet reign supreme in the earth. The gracious God is ready, because of the sacrifice of His Son, to pardon and pass over the iniquity of His people upon their repentance and turning to Him. Let the pardoned sinner remember that if he has not been dealt with according to his deserts, it is because Jesus Christ bore his sins on the cross, and made it possible for God to put His sins in the depths of the sea.

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You that even when everything is going wrong and even when I am paying the consequences for my sinful choices, I am still Your child and You are still watching over me. Help me to look to You and wait for You, trusting that You hear me when I pray. Father, who is a God like You, removing iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of Your inheritance? You do not hold on to Your anger forever, because You delight in faithful love. You will again have compassion on us; You will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show loyalty and faithful love to Your people, as You swore to our fathers from days long ago. Thank You, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack, Emma, Lucy)
  • Bob Hoover
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Andy Lanning

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Question #23: Why must the Redeemer be truly God?

Children’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective.

Adult’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective; and also that He would be able to bear the righteous anger of God against sin and yet overcome death.

Memory Verse

Acts 2:24 (HCSB)

God raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.
