Observation

What do we learn here about God’s attitude toward those who oppose Him (2-3)? About those who trust in Him (7)? About the destiny of each group (14-15)?

Application

Do I trust God to defeat His foes and protect and bless His people?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Triune God, Thank You that You are slow to anger, but help me to remember that You are great in power and do not allow the guilty to go unpunished. I believe that You will bring to destruction all the schemes that the wicked plot against You. Thank You that You are good, Lord, a stronghold in a day of distress; You care for those who take refuge in You. I believe that one day You will ultimately judge and punish all the unrepentant wicked, but bless and embrace those who are Yours. Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Dan & Jenn Loeschke
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan

Ministry:

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for our state leaders…

  • Governor & his advisers
  • Judges
  • state senators and representatives
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

Catechism

PART 2: CHRIST, REDEMPTION AND GRACE

Question #23: Why must the Redeemer be truly God?

Children’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective.

Adult’s Answer: That because of His divine nature His obedience and suffering would be perfect and effective; and also that He would be able to bear the righteous anger of God against sin and yet overcome death.

Memory Verse

Acts 2:24 (HCSB)

God raised Him up, ending the pains of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it.
