Malachi 2

What does God have to say to the priests? Why is God angry with the people (13-16)?

Has my heart grown cold to God, and am I causing others to stumble? Do I respect and guard the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, Thank You that in Jesus You have made a covenant of life and peace with me. May I ever revere You and stand in awe of Your name. May true instruction be in my mouth, and nothing wrong found on my lips. Let me walk with You in peace and fairness and turn many from sin as a messenger of You, Lord of Hosts. Keep me from causing anyone to stumble. Help me to see marriage as a sacred and holy trust, and may I always stand for up it in general and (if I am married) specifically in my own life toward my own spouse for Your glory. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Michael & Jenn Morgan (Eleanor)
  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz (Anabelle)
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for the relationship between generations–parents, children, grandparents

  • That the true Christian faith of older generation would be clearly communicated and passed down to children
  • That saved children in unsaved families would clearly exhibit and communicate the faith to their parents and grandparents
  • A harvest of souls of all ages
  • Good, nurturing relationships
  • Good, nurturing relationships
  • Catechism

Question #36: What do we believe about the Holy Spirit?

Children’s Answer: That He is God, coeternal with the Father and the Son.

Adult’s Answer: That He is God, coeternal with the Father and the Son, and that God grants Him irrevocably to all who believe.

    Memory Verse

    John 14:16–17 (HCSB)

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you.
