Malachi 3

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

After all the times Israel turned against God, why didn’t He turn against them (6-7)? What promise does God make regarding how the wicked are often better off in this life than the righteous (14-18)?

Am I thankful to God that he remains faithful to me even when I am unfaithful to Him? Do I trust Him to set things right one day (rewarding the righteous and punishing the wicked)?

Dear Father, Thank You for Your faithful love that never changes and never ends! Thank You that You are and always will be in control–and You will reward those who are Yours and judge those who are wicked. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin, Natalie)
  • Janet Sonnenberg
  • Dave & Debbie Spears
  • Justin & Bonnie Wilkerson (Janae, Jordan)
  • Sree & Irena Yalamanchili
  • Jason & Danielle Youngblood (Kayla, Kendra)

  • Chapel Mission India

  • That we would be devoted to thanksgiving and praise to our Lord–for what He has done, for what He is doing, for what He will do, and for who He is–in good times and bad.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Commissioners, Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

Question #36: What do we believe about the Holy Spirit?

Children’s Answer: That He is God, coeternal with the Father and the Son.

Adult’s Answer: That He is God, coeternal with the Father and the Son, and that God grants Him irrevocably to all who believe.

Memory Verse

John 14:16–17 (HCSB)

And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth. The world is unable to receive Him because it doesn’t see Him or know Him. But you do know Him, because He remains with you and will be in you.
