Ecclesiastes 4

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

SB: The world is full of trouble. By reason of man’s perversity, he is ever disturbed and perplexed by social conditions around him. If Christ and the hope of heaven were not taken into account, to die as soon as possible would be desirable.

SB: For every right work, the Christian is remembered by the Lord Jesus, and at His coming will be rewarded. Though he be hated by a neighbor for a right work, the Christian will always be abounding in the work of the Lord knowing his labor will not be in vain in the Lord.

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Help me to keep my heart, mins, and will focused on my mission for You. May I not get distracted by the evil in the world, the sins of another, or any apparent lack of progress for Your kingdom. Rather, help me to remember that You always reward the faithfulness of Your children, and while You have given me work, the results are up to You. I pray this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Dan & Jenn Loeschke
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Teachers & Administrators & School Boards

  • Godly curriculum
  • God’s wisdom in teaching and leading
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Ability to inspire a love of truth and learning

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to provide the wisdom, resources, and volunteers needed to oversee this expanding global outreach to children.

Question #47: Does the Lord’s Supper add anything to Christ’s atoning work?

Children’s Answer: No, Christ died once for all.

Adult’s Answer: No, Christ died once for all. The Lord’s Supper is a covenant meal celebrating Christ’s atoning work; as it is also a means of strengthening our faith as we look to him, and a foretaste of the future feast. But those who take part with unrepentant hearts eat and drink judgment on themselves.

Memory Verse

1 Peter 3:18 (HCSB)

For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, that He might bring you to God, after being put to death in the fleshly realm but made alive in the spiritual realm.
