Ecclesiastes 10

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

SB: Fools are apt, at every turn, to proclaim their folly, for if one is lacking in true wisdom, it cannot be concealed. True wisdom is true honor and will gain a man a reputation which is very valuable.

SB: Those who profess to be followers of Christ, who is said to be “made unto us wisdom,” have need to walk very circumspectly lest they be guilty of any instance of folly, for many eyes are upon them.

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Holy Spirit, Lead and guide me in the way I should go, and give me a heart that is willing and eager to follow. Illuminate for me the wisdom of God’s Word, and strengthen me to resist sin and avoid folly. I ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack, Emma, Lucy)
  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Andy Lanning

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for the salvation of the lost

  • Readiness to repent
  • Hearts prepared to hear God’s voice
  • Deep dissatisfaction and unrest with life without Him
  • Godly influences

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for the National Leadership Team volunteers who work with local churches to distribute the shoe boxes and to implement “The Greatest Journey.”

Question #48: What is the church?

Children’s Answer: The church is the family of God and the body of Christ, of which He is the head.

Adult’s Answer: The church is the family of God and the body of Christ, of which He is the head. The universal church is all those who have received salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. The local church is a community of members of the universal church, who worship together, encourage and learn from one another, build each other up in the knowledge and grace of God, and spur each other on to good works. God sends out this community to proclaim the gospel and prefigure Christ’s kingdom by the quality of their life together and their love for one another.

Memory Verse

1 Corinthians 12:13-14,27 (HCSB)

For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body–whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free–and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. So the body is not one part but many. Now you are the body of Christ, and individual members of it.
