Genesis 41

What did Pharaoh’s dream mean? How did God use it?

Can I look back at my life and see how God has used circumstances that were painful at the time to work out for my good?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You that Joseph was betrayed by his brothers, falsely accused by Potipher’s wife, and wrongly imprisoned, because You used all of those circumstances to bring him before Pharaoh and become vice-regent of Egypt. As a result of that, his family and the future nation of Israel was saved. Thank You that You use even the difficult and trying circumstances in my life for my good and Your glory if I am devoted to You. Keep me devoted to You! I ask You in Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Dustin and Amy Barton
  • Debbie Brueggemann
  • Michelle Caldwell
  • Kathi Carr
  • Loran “Bud” Clark

  • Compassion International

  • That we will be devoted to evangelism and growth; that the Lord will add to our numbers those who are being saved.

Community: Pray for the elderly…

  • That they will be treated respectfully
  • That they will not dwell on mistakes and regret
  • That God will provide for their health and finances
  • That God will protect them from those who would try to harm them
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Any broken family relationships restored before they pass on

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray that God will use Operation Christmas Child to bring joy to boys and girls who are facing poverty, sickness, or war.
