Leviticus 1

What is the significance of the sacrifice animal being “unblemished?” Of the ceremonial washings? Of the sprinkling of blood on the altar?

Do I admit that no offering or sacrifice I could ever make would maintain God’s standards of perfection? Am I thankful for the unblemished Lamb of God, whose blood cleanses me permanently and eternally?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I know I am far from “unblemished,” and I have nothing to offer You that could meet that standard. Your Word says that without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. While I desire to offer You my best in all that i have and all that I am, remind me that apart from Jesus, it is worthless. Thank You for the Lamb of God, whose blood washes away my sin, Jesus Christ! Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack, Emma, Lucy)
  • Fred Leonard
  • Dan & Jenn Loeschke

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for orphans and children in foster care…

  • that they would come to know the adoptive Father-heart of God
  • that they would be positively influenced by Christian workers
  • that God would bring Christian friends alongside them
  • that they would come to salvation
  • that they would be adopted by godly parents

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for the National Leadership Team volunteers who work with local churches to distribute the shoe boxes and to implement “The Greatest Journey.”
