Leviticus 2

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

The grain offering was a gift of thanks to God, acknowledging that food (and life) comes from Him. What did the lack of yeast signify? What did the oil symbolize (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)? How does this grain (bread) offering point to Christ (John 6:35, John 6:51)?

Am I thankful to God, acknowledging Him as the source of the daily necessities of life? Am I thankful for the removal of the yeast of sin by the blood of Christ, the Bread of Life and the Bread come down from Heaven? Am I thankful for the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and do I follow His leading?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord God, Thank You for providing the necessities of life, both physically and spiritually. Thank You that Jesus’ blood cleanses me from the infecting yeast of sin. And thank You for the oil of the Holy Spirit, who anoints and seals me in Your family, and softens my heart to transform to be more like Christ. In the Name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for marriages in our community…

  • that Christ-like love would be exhibited
  • for good communication between spouses
  • for unity in finances
  • salvation for non-believing spouses
  • that they would balance work and home life
  • that Godly friends and mentors would come alongside them.

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to provide the wisdom, resources, and volunteers needed to oversee this expanding global outreach to children.
