Leviticus 4

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

Leviticus 4 describes the sin offering. What key aspects of the requirements stand out? What does the fact that e sacrifice had to be made for everyone, even the priests, reveal? Where was the sacrifice burned (12, 21)?

How does the sin offering point to Christ (Hebrews 13:11-13, Hebrews 10:14, 2 Corinthians 5:21, 1 Peter 2:24)? Have I appropriated Christ’s substitionary sacrifice, and am I living based on it?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Remind me of the grievous nature of sin and how much You hate it. Help me not to wink at sin, trying to excuse it or justify it. Rather, may I embrace the reality of my sinfulness and total inability to free myself from its hold, and trust always and only in the saving sacrifice of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! May I walk in the Spirit and not in my sinful nature, so that I may honor You in my life. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware
