Leviticus 7

The peace (fellowship) offering is different from the previously explained offerings, in that it is not an offering given because of sin. Rather, it was an offering given as an act of worship for three types of occasions: 1) thanksgiving for something God had done, 2) when a vow had been fulfilled, or 3) as a freewill (voluntary) offering to God for no special occasion.

Do I live a life offering my thanks, praise, and worship to God when He blesses me, when I’ve accomplished something, and even in the “rut” of everyday life?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, While the sacrifice system is no longer needed because of the once-for-all sacrifice of Jesus as revealed in the New Testament, may I offer my life to You as a sacrifice of thanks, praise, worship, and obedience. May I always give you thanks, praise, and glory; when You act on my behalf, when I have accomplished some task or mission by Your grace, and just for being alive and Your child. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Roger & Andrea Gabel; Tom
  • Steve & Gloria Gangwer
  • George Gifford
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Greece

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for our state leaders…

  • Governor & his advisers
  • Judges
  • state senators and representatives
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray that the boxes will open doors for children to hear the Good News in parts of the world that are typically closed to proclaiming the Gospel.
