Numbers 5

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

How did God consider a sin against another person (5)? What was to be done about it? While the ceremonial test of guilt seems strange to us today, why was the sin of adultery taken so seriously (especially in light of verse 5)?

Do I try to live such that I do not sin against others–and thereby, against God? When I realize I have sinned against someone, do I make restitution over and above any loss I caused? Do I place a a high priority on faithfulness, as God does?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, Please keep me from sinning against others, which is really just another way of sinning against You. When I do fall in this way, may I be quick to apologize, repent, and make recompense over and above any harm I caused whenever possible. Help me to be faithful to You and to all of the proper relationships and commitments in my life. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to provide the wisdom, resources, and volunteers needed to oversee this expanding global outreach to children.
