Luke 5

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What did the leper and the paralytic and his friends have in common that moved Jesus to heal them? What did Jesus do that offended the religious leaders, and what was His response to them?

Do I truly believe that Christ can do for me anything He is willing to do? Do I reach out to those who need a spiritual doctor, or am I more concerned about what “religious” people think of me?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for the miraculous power and authority of Your Son. I thank You that as Creator You have absolute power and dominion over all of creation, and You can do anything You desire at any time You desire for anyone You desire–and that includes me. I ask that You would grant me faith like the leper and paralytic in this passage. I ask that You would grant me faith on behalf of my friends who are weak and in need, as the paralytic’s friends had faith on his behalf. I pray that You would give me a loving heart that longs to help and see the lost spiritually healed, for their only remedy is Jesus Christ. I pray these things in His Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for orphans and children in foster care…

  • that they would come to know the adoptive Father-heart of God
  • that they would be positively influenced by Christian workers
  • that God would bring Christian friends alongside them
  • that they would come to salvation
  • that they would be adopted by godly parents

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for God to provide the wisdom, resources, and volunteers needed to oversee this expanding global outreach to children.

Question 5: What else did God create?

Children’s Answer: God created all things and all His creation was very good.

Adult’s Answer: God created all things by His powerful Word, and all His creation was very good; everything flourished under His loving rule.

Memory Verse

Genesis 1:31 (HCSB)

God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.
