Isaiah 48

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

In spite of Israel’s unfaithfulness and idolatry, why did God choose not to destroy them (9-11)? Why did He teach them (16-17)? What would have happened if they had listened and obeyed (18-19)?

Am I thankful for the mercy and grace of the Lord, and do I give Him the honor and glory He deserves for it? Do I recognize that the Lord’s instruction is for my benefit, and I will be blessed if I listen and obey?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father God, You are the One who spoke about the end events before the beginning of time. I thank You that You do not rush to act in anger, but show great grace and mercy in exercising restraint! I give You praise, honor and glory, for this shows how great You are and it is for my benefit and survival! I thank You that though You sometimes allow me to be afflicted, it is to refine me–may I see it as such and learn from it. You will not give Your glory to another: help me not to, either. I desire to learn from Your Spirit and Your Word, for You are my Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, Yahweh, my God, who teaches me for my benefit and leads me in the way I should go. So help me to pay attention to Your commands, so that I may have peace like a river and righteousness like the waves of the sea, and receive Your blessing. I pray this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan (Eleanor)

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Outreach Ministries

  • God’s creative provision
  • For sound financial management and strategies
  • Salvation and spiritual growth for those to whom they minister
  • God’s anointing and leading for projects and programs
  • Volunteers and workers

Question #25: Does Christ’s death mean all our sins can be forgiven?

Children’s Answer: Yes, because Christ’s death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, God will remember our sins no more.

Adult’s Answer: Yes, because Christ’s death on the cross fully paid the penalty for our sin, God graciously imputes Christ’s righteousness to us as if it were our own and will remember our sins no more.

Memory Verse

2 Corinthians 5:21 (HCSB)

He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
