1 Chronicles 16

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

Why did David appoint Levites to minister before the ark (4)? What specific instruction did David give the people in the first part of his song of thanks (8-15)?

Do I celebrate the Lord and give thanks and praise to Him? Do I proclaim His deeds, sing praise to Him, and honor His holy name? Have I been seeking Him and remembering His mighty works and His covenant?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I celebrate You, Lord, and give thanks and praise to You. May I never be shy to proclaim Your deeds among the peoples. I sing praise to You and will tell about all Your wonderful works! May I always live, speak, and act in a way that brings honor to Your holy name, seeking You and Your will and not my own. Help me, especially in dark times, to remember the wonderful works You have done, Your wonders, and Your everlasting covenant in Christ Jesus. In His name I pray, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Roger & Andrea Gabel; Tom
  • Steve & Gloria Gangwer
  • Doug Gates
  • George Gifford
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Greece

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.
  • Community: Pray for Media Industries (TV/Movies, Radio/Music, Print/Internet)

    • Godly themes/influences
    • Christian workers at all levels sensitive to God’s leading
    • Salvation for influential media leaders
    • Courage to share God’s message
    • Financial rewards for wholesome media

Question #30: What is faith in Jesus Christ?

Children’s Answer: receiving and resting on him alone for salvation as he is offered to us in the gospel

Adult’s Answer: Faith in Jesus Christ is acknowledging the truth of everything that God has revealed in his Word, trusting in him, and also receiving and resting on him alone for salvation as he is offered to us in the gospel.

    Memory Verse

    Galatians 2:20 (HCSB)

And I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
