1 Chronicles 18

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What was the secret to David’s amazing military victories (13)? What was a key to his political rule (14)?

Do I give the glory for any victories in my life to God? Am I thankful for Christ, the Root and Branch of David, who will reign forever in justice and righteousness?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I thank You that You gave David the victory, just as You ultimately do for every believer in Christ! Help me to remember any success or achievements I attain are gifts from You, and I need to give You the glory and praise. Thank You that Jesus will rule and reign forever in justice and righteousness. I pray this in His name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner
  • Corey & Sheryl Morasch
  • Cody Morgan
  • Kyle Morgan
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan (Eleanor)

  • Christian Pro-Life Ministries in Idaho (Idaho Chooses Life, Stanton Health Care, etc)

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for young children in our community

  • For Godly influences
  • For safety and protection from accidents, abuse, and predators
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For a heart to learn and to know God from a young age

Question #30: What is faith in Jesus Christ?

Children’s Answer: receiving and resting on him alone for salvation as he is offered to us in the gospel

Adult’s Answer: Faith in Jesus Christ is acknowledging the truth of everything that God has revealed in his Word, trusting in him, and also receiving and resting on him alone for salvation as he is offered to us in the gospel.

Memory Verse

Galatians 2:20 (HCSB)

And I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
