Jeremiah 32

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What seemingly strange thing did God tell Jeremiah to do (1-15)? What was the main point of Jeremiah’s prayer? What awesome promise does God make (37-41)?

From the Summarized Bible by K.L. Brooks: When we are perplexed about the methods of God’s providence, it is good to go to Him in prayer, by which we shall be taught that not one word of all His counsel shall fail. Though we cannot reconcile one word with another, we may be sure both words are true and both will be made good.

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Heavenly Father, When I am confused and don’t understand what You are doing or what You are teaching me, remind me to trust You, obey what I do know You’ve commanded, and give the rest to You in prayer. Thank You that, because of Jesus, I can confidently claim that I am Yours and You are mine! Teach me to fear You for my own good and the good of those who will follow after me. Thank You for Your everlasting covenant;, and that You will never stop doing good to me– You rejoice in this! I pray this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz (Anabelle)
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Martin & Patricia Regueiro
  • Daryl & Joyce Roech & family
  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin, Natalie
  • Ross Stoltey

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

Question #45: Is baptism with water the washing away of sin itself?

Children’s Answer: No, only the blood of Christ can cleanse us from sin.

Adult’s Answer: No, only the blood of Christ and the renewal of the Holy Spirit can cleanse us from sin.

Memory Verse

Luke 3:16 (HCSB)

John answered them all, “I baptize you with water, but One is coming who is more powerful than I. I am not worthy to untie the strap of His sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”
