Observation

What was the point of having Jeremiah offer the Rechabites wine? What did God tell Jeremiah proclaim to Judah?

Application

Do I pay attention to the Word of God and obey it?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Heavenly Father, Help me not to be disobedient, ignoring Your Word like the Judahites. Rather, may I listen and obey. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Pat Dumandan
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)
  • Gary Friend

Missionaries:

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

CLF:

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Mountain Home…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • For the air base: safety for military and their families (especially those who are deployed), sound military strategies by commanders, impact for Christ in areas where deployed

Catechism

PART 3: SPIRIT, RESTORATION, GROWING IN GRACE

Question #46: What is the Lord’s Supper?

Children’s Answer: Christ commanded all Christians to eat bread and to drink from the cup in thankful remembrance of him.

Adult’s Answer: Christ commanded all Christians to eat bread and to drink from the cup in thankful remembrance of him and his death. The Lord’s Supper is a celebration of the presence of God in our midst; bringing us into communion with God and with one another; feeding and nourishing our souls. It also anticipates the day when we will eat and drink with Christ in his Father’s kingdom.

Memory Verse

1 Corinthians 11:23–26 (HCSB)

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: On the night when He was betrayed, the Lord Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, “This is My body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way, after supper He also took the cup and said, “This cup is the new covenant established by My blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.
