Observation

What is Paul’s instruction regarding physical intimacy in the marriage relationship? What is God’s command regarding divorced Christians remarrying? What if one spouse is unsaved? What if one spouse dies?

Application

What does Paul mean when he says the time is short? Why are these instructions regarding marriage of such importance to individual Christians and to the church?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father, In this passage we see how important the marriage relationship is to You. I ask that Your people would take their marriage vows very seriously. May we commit ourselves to staying married to our Christian spouses. If a spouse divorces someone through no fault of their own, I pray for Your comfort and guidance for that person. Help us to follow the instructions You have given us here regarding remarriage. May we all live in devotion to You, whether married or single, divorced or widowed. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack, Emma, Lucy)
  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner (Elijah)

Ministry:

  • Operation Christmas Child

CLF:

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Kuna…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
