Ezekiel 31-32

Summarized Bible: It is rare to find a humble spirit in the midst of great advancement. God can easily expel those who think themselves, and seem to others, to have taken deepest root. Pride goeth before a fall. Great potentates, if they be tyrannical and oppressive, are in God’s account no better than beasts of prey, and will be shortly devoured. The nation that has terrorized others will eventually be made a terror to itself. (God’s messengers should sympathize with the miseries which sinners bring upon themselves. It becomes them to weep for sinners who will not weep for themselves.)

Do I think of myself more highly than I ought? How do I think of and treat others? Do I weep for the sorrows of sinners who will not repent?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father, I humble myself before You. Help me to remember that the only thing I am to boast about is the cross of Christ my Savior. Help me to remember to treat others as I would want to be treated, and to remember that what I do for one of Your children, I’ve done for Christ. Give me a heart of compassion for those who are suffering, even the wicked who have brought it on themselves, for apart from Your grace and mercy, I would be in no better place. I ask this for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus, Jack, Emma, Lucy)
  • Dakota “Koty” & Kayla Molner (Elijah)

  • Operation Christmas Child

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for teens and young adults (middle school through college age) in our community

  • For Godly influences and teachers
  • For safety and protection from accidents, abuse, and predators
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For a heart to learn and to know God
  • That they will not be prodigals, but remain true to God all the days of their lives
  • That they would turn to God to fill every need, not to addictive substances and behaviors
  • Respect for parents and other authority
