Daniel 1

In spite of the grievous situation of being conquered and deported, how did Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah demonstrate their faithfulness to God? How did God demonstrate His faithfulness to them?

Do I continue to follow and serve God faithfully even when the situation is dark and things don’t go my way? Do I give God the honor and praise for His faithfulness to me? Do I give Him the credit for any good thing that happens to me?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the godly example of faithfulness set by Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. But thank You even more for Your faithfulness to them, and to all Your people through the ages, including me. Help me to trust You and remain true to You even in the darkest times when I don’t understand what You are doing, and help me to remember that any good thing I have is a gift from You, and any good things I have learned, I was ultimately taught by You. Thank You for Your great generosity and faithful love! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Pat Dumandan
  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Mattea, Joseph, Joshua, Sophia, Jonathan)
  • Gary Friend

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.
